RANKINGS: TCNJ is ranked No. 12 by D3soccer.com and No. 17 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in Tuesday’s polls. The Lions are No. 4 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III South Atlantic poll. TCNJ has been ranked as high as No. 8 by D3soccer on September 7.

LAST MEETING: On October 26, 2013 in Ewing, NJ. No. 6/11 TCNJ won, 7-0.
Brittany Hoffman registered an incredible 23 saves under heavy pressure. It was at the time her sixth career effort with 20+ saves. The Lions outshot NJCU, 62-0, including a 30-0 edge in shots on goal and held a 19-0 margin in corner kicks. Five different players ultimately scored for TCNJ, which led 5-0 at the half. The Lions netted goals in the 7
th, 32
nd, 37
th, 44
th and 45
th minutes in the opening half, with the latter two goals separated by 38 seconds. The hosts added second half tallies in the 69
th and 87
th minutes.
Lauren Malajian and
Christina Roach each scored twice.
Shannon White, Christine Levering and
Chalen Noble each scored.
Justine Larocca had two assists.

LAST TIME OUT: Rutgers University-Newark defeated NJCU on October 4, 3-0 in Newark, NJ. NJCU was outshot 20-2. The Raiders led 1-0 at halftime after a 10
th minute goal and put the game away with two goals in a short span in the 69
th and 72
nd minutes.

#DYNASTY: TCNJ is the defending NJAC champion (2013) and has won four of the last five titles. In fact, since the conference began sponsoring women’s soccer as an official NJAC sport in 1994, TCNJ has captured 16 of 20 conference championships.

HOFFMAN HALF GRAND: On September 27, three-time All-NJAC
Brittany Hoffman added another notch to her resume by exceeding 500 career saves. She enters play today with 523 saves, 11 shutouts and 23 wins in her career. She had recorded double digits in saves 23 times in her career and three times this season. She already owns what is believed to be the all-time NCAA Division III record for assists by a goalkeeper (three) and is one keeper helper shy of the all-divisions mark of four, achieved twice before.
Hoffman has recorded 20+ saves in a game seven times in her career.

NJCU IN NCAA STAT RANKINGS: Hoffman currently ranks No. 72 in the country in total saves and NJCU ranks 66
th as a team.

VICIOUS D: TCNJ has allowed just three goals all season, both in losses to other nationally-ranked clubs—a 2-1 road defeat at Johns Hopkins University (September 13) and a 1-0 decision vs. Montclair State University on October 4 (0.27 goals against average). Otherwise, the Lions have recorded nine shutouts this season while outscoring opponents, 36-3 and have outshot the opposition an incredible 233-47. Meanwhile, the Lions have a 72-15 differential in corner kicks.

TCNJ IN NCAA STAT RANKINGS: The defensive-oriented Lions are seventh in the country in shutout percentage (.800), 10
th in goals against average (0.300) and 32
nd in save percentage (.880). However, TCNJ has performed on the offensive side of the ball. The Lions list 20
th in scoring offense (3.20) and 31
st in points (8.70).
Kendra Griffith is 12
th nationally in GAA (0.329).

NJCU SCORELESS DROUGHT: Other than a penalty kick against Sage on September 25, NJCU has not scored in a span of 470:00. NJCU’s last goal was a golden goal in double overtime by
Amanda Filippone on September 17 at Sarah Lawrence.

Laura Bustamante is a two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week winner for the Knights, taking home the honor on September 1 and 15. On September 1 when she was the first-ever ECAC Division III Metro Rookie of the Week.

KEAN HONORS: TCNJ’s
Jordan Downs, the reigning NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, is a two-time NJAC Defensive Player of the Week, taking home the honor in week one and five,
Jessica Goldman was NJAC Rookie of the Week in week two.
Downs and
Korrie Harkins are the only two returning All-NJAC standouts from last year when the Lions had six players earn All-Conference distinction.
